A unique opportunity has arisen to be a key part of the leadership team in a brand-new free school in South Bristol. As the Head of School under the direction of regional leadership you will take a role in providing our young people with a safe and thriving environment to learn, flourish and transform their lives. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, passionate, inspiring and highly motivated educationalist to join the Oasis family leading our secondary academy in South Bristol. About the Role
As Head of School, you will be responsible to regional leadership for the operational leadership and management of the academy alongside agreed strategic responsibilities. Working alongside regional leaders you will lead the staff in realising the vision of establishing and developing a unique, extended learning community that will cater for every young person.
Oasis Academy Daventry Road is an 11-16 free school, opening in September 2023 and will be situated in temporary accommodation on the site of Oasis Academy John Williams playing fields (STP). In year 1 the school will open with a PAN of 180 Year 7 students only, with the current projected timeline to move into the permanent buildings on Daventry Road in 2024 with Years 7 and 8. Work on this building will commence in December 2022 and you will be highly involved in the detail of this.

In the final 8 months prior to opening, the Head of School will work closely with the regional leadership, Project Management team and the DfE to ensure that all policies, procedures and documentation are in place to secure an excellent pre-opening OFSTED report. Community engagement and presence may be required as issues emerge and require action to ensure a smooth opening. Recruitment of senior leadership, teaching and support staff will start shortly after the commencement of the role and the successful candidate will be required to lead on this in collaboration with the executive leadership to develop the staffing model in line with the vision of the academy.

The Oasis Story
Oasis Community Learning was born out of the group of Oasis Trust charities which was established in 1985 by Rev Steve Chalke MBE.
Steve’s vision was to create communities where everyone is included, contributing and reaching their God-given potential. His dream was to open a school that was inclusive and provided opportunity for everybody, a hospital for those unable to access good healthcare and a hostel for the homeless.
It was out of this vision that Oasis Community Learning was born, and we have now grown into a significant education provider in just over a decade.
