We are looking for a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team at Underley Garden in Kirkby Lonsdale.
About the School
The young people who attend Underley Garden all have an EHCP/statement of special educational needs. Underley meets the needs of a range of SEN including; Autism, Learning Difficulties, Mental Health & Medical needs and related behavioural difficulties.

About the Role
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who will provide a clinical service for children and young people with a wide range of occupational performance needs including sensory processing and integration difficulties at Underley Garden.

Essential Criteria
- To provide specialist assessment, differential diagnosis and implementation of occupational therapy management
- Responsible for assisting lead OT in planning and delivering an equitable and client centred OT service for children and young people with a wide range of occupational performance difficulties
- Liaise with and develops links with other professionals and with parents/carers involved with individual clients in order to facilitate coordinated provision of care.
- Provides OT intervention in UG children home and school (s). Also provides minor advice to parents, where appropriate and not requiring further assessment.
- Good observation and communication skills
- Compassionate - Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and young people, other staff and relatives remaining sensitive and empathetic
- Ability to recognise and manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
- Intuitive and caring nature
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and young people
