We have a  very exciting opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to work in one of London’s leading schools  for children and young people with autism.

The successful post holder will have responsibility for delivering the Individual Learning Plan for each pupil as part of multi-disciplinary team of various specialists. The post holder will contribute to the planning, adaptation, monitoring and reporting of pupils' personalised plans enabling them to learn as well as access to the community for our older students.

We are looking for staff that share our vision for young people with autism and are not afraid to take on a challenge. Working alongside the Learners, their families and related professionals you will be an enthusiastic and autonomous practitioner ready to share your previous high-level of experience working with young people with autism. Your professional expertise will be highly valued and offer you the opportunity to develop your skills working within a specialist teaching and behaviour team. 

You will have/need:

  • Professional Qualified Occupational Therapy qualification to degree or diploma level
  • HCPC Registration,
  • Knowledge of assessment, planning and evaluating treatment,
  • Demonstrable experience in paediatrics,
  • Demonstratble commitment to Evidence Based Practice (EBP),
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of a range of treatment techniques, OT models and approaches in adults with ASD and/or complex needs
  • Knowledge and experience of the impact of disability on their occupational performance
  • Working Knowledge of Further Education Curriculum

TreeHouse School is a non-maintained special school that was founded in 1997. Based in the heart of a thriving community in north London, it educates autistic pupils aged three to 19 from across London and the Home Counties.

Using the Ambitious Approach to education, pupils receive specialist and personalised support through a dedicated transdisciplinary team of qualified teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists and behaviour specialists.

Our curriculum is tailored to each pupil’s unique qualities, specific needs, and individual starting points. In this way, we can set accurate targets for progress.

In our individualised learning programmes, we assess each pupil extensively and consider their strengths and what they find more challenging. Our curriculum is creative and flexible, using our natural environment to extend pupils’ learning. You are as likely to see maths being practised in the shop, the community or the garden as you are in the classroom. Where appropriate, our curriculum is linked to and, where necessary, differentiated from the National Curriculum’s requirements.
