Hours 7 hours per week (1 day)

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our close knit and friendly team.  This one day a week post is suitable for practitioners looking to extend their clinical experience within the field of Autism, Learning disability and associated difficulties and work within an educational setting. The selected candidate will be required to work closely with the Speech and Language Therapist and other professionals providing support to students.


Experience within this field is essential and at least two years within a relevant setting is preferred; however consideration will be given to candidates who have had experience as part of their undergraduate training. CPD opportunities will be provided for the successful candidate to develop skills and practice and to assist developing practice and information needs.


The successful candidate will be required to provide assessment, therapy and review for students. Training of staff may be required upon request. Learning Support Workers (LSWs) will benefit greatly from OT support and guidance when carrying out activities with students such as cooking, and when overseeing basic life skills such as personal hygiene tasks. Comprehensive reports and formal documents will be required for new students and following review.


All applicants must be fully-qualified Occupational Therapy Practitioners, members of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and any other relevant governing bodies. Proof of membership and a recent Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) will be required upon successful appointment.
