Roehampton Gate School are looking for a practitioner with a passion for working with young people with ASD and associated social communication difficulties.  The successful applicant will need to hold a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy together with full BAOT membership and HPC registration.

This role will have a strategic element, whereby you will assess, deliver and review therapeutic provision to our young people.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Direct therapy
  • Indirect therapy e.g. group work
  • Record keeping and report writing; as well as training to the staff team
  • Ensuring that a consistent and coherent approach is maintained
  • You will need to organise, plan and prioritise your own work load
  • Experience of working with children with complex needs is essential

You will benefit from working within a well-established team, including Speech & Language Therapist, Therapy Assistant and both a Counsellor and Student Wellbeing Lead, as well as the wider staff.

Roehampton Gate School is a school for young people aged 9 -19 with mild to moderate autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated learning difficulties. Located in Roehampton, SW London, we aim to deliver the highest level of education and care according to individual needs in a safe, positive and structured environment.

About Roehampton Gate School

Roehampton Gate School is a purpose-built day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders, in particular Asperger's Syndrome and associated learning difficulties. It is situated next to the Hospital Roehampton. The school opened in April 2010.

The spacious and modern building has been specifically designed to accommodate up to 40 young people with autistic spectrum disorders and Asperger's Syndrome.

The classrooms are set up for specialist subjects including information technology, art, food technology, science and music, together with exclusive sensory and therapy rooms/suites or studios.

Roehampton Gate School is also uniquely placed to benefit from the extensive therapy and specialist mental health services provided at the Hospital Roehampton. Staff and students will also work closely with the child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) and experienced educational psychologists
