Occupational Therapy Assistant

£18,500

40 hours per week, 41 weeks a year.

Heathermount is a non-maintained specialist school in Ascot owned by the Disabilities Trust. The school provides education for children and young people aged between 4-19 years who have a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition and associated disorders. The school has recently received a "Good" Ofsted inspection (Feb 2019) and has its Autism Accreditation mark. We are a forward looking and ambitious school.

We are looking to appoint an Occupational Therapy Assistant who is enthusiastic, keen to learn, innovative and would fit in well with an already well-established therapy team.

Our team of education and therapy staff help to provide a high-quality educational experience for our young people and a professional and extensive CPD programme for all staff.

The role includes assessment and management of children with occupational therapy needs. It also includes working closely with families, peers and professionals across the education setting.

Alongside the lead OT, you will deliver therapy, train others and help to shape a developing service while enhancing your own clinical skills. You will contribute to service specific projects and have the opportunity to follow through your own ideas with the support of the lead Occupational Therapist.

Heathermount is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students. All positions are subject to receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, Barred List check and references.

Visits and informal discussions are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact Julie-Ann Stone on 01344 875101 or by email to admin@heathermount.co.uk.

Building confidence & preparing students for life

We are an Independent sepecial school specialising in a broad and balanced education for children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years old with Autistic Spectrum Conditions.  We are a well resourced day school with excellent facilities.  Located within 14 acres of beautiful grounds in Ascot we make good use of our setting to improve students' well-being.  It is a calming environment to help manage anxieties.  Our class sizes are small (max 8 in Secondary).  Students follow a range of pathways, according to their individual needs and take qualifications ranging from ASDAN and Functional Skills through to Level 2 NVQ/BTEC and GCSEs.  Both core and vocational courses are available and students enjoy the opportunity to study business administration, catering and horticulture alongside more traditional subjects.

In summer 2021 we proudly achieved the highly regarded Advanced Autism Accreditation status as well as the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) and Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS).  Our last Ofsted Report in February 2019 concluded that we are a good school with the potential to become outstanding in the near future and this is very much a focus for the whole staff.

Heathermount School is part of the Cavendish Education Group.
