We are seeking an experienced Office Manager for Oakwood School. The successful candidate will manage a small team of staff and be the first point of contact in the main for schools and other stakeholders. Previous experience in finance is essential.

We are looking for someone who is able to work independently as well as part of a team and can be flexible to meet the operational needs of the school. Sound understanding and experience of using SIMS & FMS as well as a confidence in using appropriate ICT packages is essential alongside the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders including local schools, multi-agency colleagues and parents / carers. We are keen to appoint a highly professional individual to provide all administrative support to the Head of School.

We are seeking an organised individual with a “can do” approach who will work in a solution focused way to the ever-changing demands of a busy school office environment.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.

New Horizons Federation is a hard federation of two special schools, Oakwood and Westbrooke Schools, for pupils with social emotional and mental health issues and the Bexley Pupil Referral Service at Pathways Short Stay School. The Federation also provides a range of services to school stakeholders and the Local Authority through an Outreach Service, Counselling Psychology Service and group and individual intervention programmes.
