A great education has the power to transform lives

At Sacred Heart we know that a great education has the power to transform lives. This is the simple philosophy that motivates everyone in our school community. We want every girl to have the best education possible and be well prepared to take her place in the world with purpose, enthusiasm and strength of character.

Love, care and commitment

A young person’s happiness and well-being are recognised as foundations to success. We ensure that their school days are the best of their lives by having a holistic approach to their academic, social and spiritual well-being. We help every girl to develop resilience and self-worth, we celebrate their successes and support them through any setbacks.

Aspiration and Ambition

We strive for the best for every girl in our care, whatever their academic ability or personal circumstances. Over the years our results have consistently positioned Sacred Heart as one of the top performing schools in our region.

Living life to the full

At Sacred Heart we seek to develop the whole child and so provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities for students to experience.  Our specialism is Performing Arts and students benefit from our fabulous facilities for Music, Dance and Drama.  We are a Platinum Artsmark school and have a state of the art auditorium and dance studio and are very proud of our status as the Lead School in the north for the Royal Shakespeare Company, which provides opportunities for our students to work alongside professional casts and hone their drama skills. Our Science department is another real strength, with many extracurricular opportunities in STEM. Our PE department hold the Schools Games Gold award, we ensure access to many sporting activities and our girls also participate in trips to places such as Kenya, to work with sister schools and Iceland and Morocco to support charitable causes.

Courage and Confidence

We give students an environment that allows them to stretch themselves academically and socially. There is a sense of community that allows girls to develop confidence in their own ability and realise that they are not defined by their gender.

Support and development

Our most valuable resource is our staff. Trustees, governors and the leadership team strive to provide the best possible facilities for work and excellent opportunities for professional development.
