Job overview

This is an exciting time to join Outwood Academy Hasland Hall. We are an 11–16 school, occupying a compact but attractive site in the South Eastern corner of Chesterfield, close to the M1 and within easy reach of the Peak District. There are currently 809 on roll, with a rise in numbers anticipated over the next three years. The school aims reflect our commitment to the principles of comprehensive education, and there is a high priority placed on inclusion.

We are looking for exceptional candidates for this role in order to meet our total commitment to our Academies and the children they support. To that end, you must meet the following requirements.

The successful applicant will be required to work across the English curriculum to support students with varying needs in small groups (2–4) or in a 1-2-1 setting.

We can offer:

  • Enthusiastic, professional young people
  • A committed and supportive staff team
  • A positive learning environment

The successful applicant will put the needs of young people first, have a passion for learning and excellent interpersonal skills, and will be both ICT and emotionally literate. Tutors will be required to prepare their own resources to meet the needs of the students but to also use resources where directed by the HoD or the Director of English.

This post will be attractive to colleagues wishing to develop their practice in a school where everybody is recognised as a learner. Due to the nature of the position, we are looking for someone who has strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

Further details of the post can be obtained via email: m.cuthbert@haslandhall.outwood.com

Closing date: Midday on 30 November 2021.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
