One-to-One Geography Tutor

We are seeking to appoint a committed individual to work as part of a dedicated team of staff. We are seeking someone who can effectively support selected students through individually tailored programmes of One to One tuition. This will be someone who has experience of teaching at KS4, or with recent experience as a GCSE examiner (preferably for AQA).

We welcome applications from people who:

• hold qualified teacher status and have experience teaching at KS4
• have retired from mainstream Geography teaching but would like to continue working with GCSE students on a one to one/small group basis
• are looking to return to teaching Geography
• hold an AS/A-level Geography
• are able to demonstrate that they can work with individual students to progress their learning in Geography
• have experience as a Geography GCSE examiner (any exam boards, but preferably for AQA); or
• have subject specific knowledge of Geography at Key stage 4 and the GCSE exam requirements.

Salary: £10.80 per hour (unqualified rate, no relevant degree) / £16.34 (unqualified rate, relevant degree) / £28.03 per hour (relevant degree and QTS status)

In line with Government guidance we are currently limiting access to our academy. However, we are still busily planning ahead for the forthcoming academic year and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us. In some instances, we may use remote processes in place of academy-based interviews and therefore we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are available via skype/video conferencing wherever possible. Every effort will be made to try and accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.
