£60-£75 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is 5 days experience within the last two years working with children, young people or vulnerable adults. 


The role:

You will be delivering support on a one to one basis to a student to ensure that their needs are met and to help keep them on task. You will develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical and emotional/behavioural/medical needs of the child and respond to them effectively to ensure that they are given the best possibility to succeed.


Duties will include:

  • Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management for a named pupil
  • Supporting a pupil on a one-to-one basis
  • Contributing to record keeping, liaising with parents and multidisciplinary teams and attending school trips/outings

The school

The School is a mixed 11-16 community specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).


Requirements

To be considered for the SEND Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • Have experience working in a similar setting with young people that have learning difficulties. For example, this could be at a similar school, residential care home or supported living
  • Be proactive and empathetic in your approach, always aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students you work with
  • Be an excellent communicator, able to work well as part of a wider team
