The Bishop of Winchester Academy is an oversubscribed and thriving Church of England School, recognised by Ofsted as ‘Improving the life chances of all our pupils’ (May 2017). There are exciting opportunities to join our motivated and ambitious team driven by the mantra of High Expectations – No Excuses.

We are looking for a passionate, motivated and dedicated 1:1 tutors of English to work in partnership with teaching and other educational support staff. You will provide individual and small group tuition for students, working with them as directed and in accordance with academy policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have a degree and it is desirable that they will have experience of working with children in a school environment. Some knowledge of specific learning difficulties and a variety of strategies to support children would be an advantage.

We would particularly like to hear from graduates looking for work experience prior to teacher training.

About The Bishop of Winchester Academy

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips. The school operates in an area where there are schools that select for entry on grounds of ability.

The mixed secondary school was opened in September 2010 as a sponsor-led academy. In September 2014, the Bishop of Winchester Academy extended its educational opportunities by opening its own sixth form.
