Salary: S02 SCP 26-28 (£29,636-£31,371) 

Hours: 37 hours per week – all year round 

Subject to a 6-month probationary period.

Working as part of The GORSE Academies Trust, Boston Spa Academy is looking to recruit an Operations & Site Manager to start as soon as possible.

The successful applicant will take responsibility for the management of this large secondary academy/post 16 site, associated facilities and student transport. They will be responsible for the management and development of specialist premises and site functions, leading on all aspects of Health & Safety, maintenance and security thereby ensuring a safe working environment. They will manage other site staff, including allocation and monitoring of work and performance appraisal and oversee external contractors working on site. The successful applicant will also lead on the management of large scale academy/community lettings programmes and their associated income.  

Working hours may occasionally include split shifts and supporting events taking place outside of school hours which are held in the academy. 

It is preferred that applicants hold a current, clean D1 driving licence and a valid MiDAS certificate but is not necessary in the first instance provided they are willing to train if required.

Boston Spa Academy in Boston Spa, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, is a mixed, secondary school for children aged 11-18. The school, which opened in 1973, has around 1,430 students of which 190 attend the growing sixth form. In September 2018, Boston Spa Academy officially joined the highly successful and nationally renowned GORSE trust. As a direct impact of working with colleagues at TGAT the academy has moved from being a school with average performance to one which is now well above the national average.
