If you are a self-motivated individual with experience in operational management, then an exciting opportunity exists at Uppingham School for the role of Operations Manager (Cleaning Services).

As Operations Manager, you will assume operational responsibility for Cleaning Services, leading and managing two Assistant Managers and a 120 strong cleaning team. You and your team will maintain responsibility for cleaning and laundry roles across the school campus, including the provision of lunch service in our 15 boarding houses. Maintaining a safe workplace for staff and colleagues, you will guarantee compliance with legislation, ensuring policies and procedures are maintained and developed.

You will bring extensive leadership skills to the role, with demonstrable experience of leading high-performing teams. You will be able to provide additional experience of working in a previous operational management role, either in cleaning, facilities management, hospitality, care industries or similar. An excellent communicator, you will possess exceptional organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

In addition to term-time School operations, the school operates a significant vacation conference business. All operations are carried out Monday to Sunday. This position is 35 hours per week, or as required by the operational demands of the role. Weekend support is to be worked on a shared rota basis, with rare evenings included.
