Charterhouse is a stunning school and a wonderful place in which to live and work. Founded in 1611 and located in its present magnificent 250 acre site near Godalming since 1872, the School has 820 pupils aged between 13 and 18, all of whom are boarders, except for about 40 'day boarders'. It recently announced its intention to extend its co-educational provision, currently only offered to its sixth form, to all year groups from Year 9 commencing in 2021.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly experienced performer and accompanist, likely to have been a university organ scholar or conservatoire student, wishing to teach and deputise for the Director of Music. A willingness to contribute to the wider extra-curricular and pastoral life of the School will be expected.
Charterhouse offers a friendly common room, a competitive salary scale, single or family accommodation depending on need, and other benefits including membership of the School's Sports Club and private medical insurance. For more information and to apply, please download the application pack from the TES or our website at www.charterhouse.org.uk Completed applications should be emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org
The closing date for applications is 12noon on Friday 3 November 2017 and interviews will take place shortly thereafter.
The post-holder will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children with whom they come into contact. They must ensure compliance with the School's safeguarding and child protection policy at all times. This appointment will be subject to checks with the Disclosure & Barring Service and with past employers.
