Job overview
We are a small friendly school of approximately 90 children from 2-16 years old and we are looking for an inspirational teacher to take on various subject duties across the school's age range, these may / will include maths tuition / sports and languages. So If you're very flexible this may be the perfect position for you. A real plus if you like the outside life. We have beautiful grounds and you may be interested in being involved in our Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme too as well as the forest school programmes we offer.
A beautiful rural location, friendly staff team, non selective school giving children freedom and opportunities to do their best.
As we are a non selective school we have children with a range of sporting abilities and our emphasis is on being healthy, the development of overall physical skills, being enjoyable and instilling a knowledge of rules of the game to be able to participate as part of a team. You must have expertise and/or an enthusiasm in a wide range of physical activities, and plan and deliver the sporting programme tailored to the groups of children in the school ranging from 7-17 years.
Year groups have two-three timetabled sessions of sport during the week as well as running the after school club sports on 3 days a week. There is PPA time and room for other teaching options if willing, such as involvement in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme as well as other possibilities.
Our facilities include the Sports Barn marked out for tennis, football, netball, basketball and a running track. We have a range of equipment and have some outside grounds and a coppice wood for other activities. We also have a studio for dance, yoga and gymnastics.
We have a few similar sized schools with whom we play some friendly games. We would like to develop and extend this area.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivating teacher to teach Spanish to our primary and senior children ranging from 5-17 years. The emphasis is on fun, variety and hands on role play and conversation with the latter years focusing on the GCSE syllabus. You will be responsible for planning a programme that develops the speaking and listening skills and the mastery of a modern language. You must be able to take the children through the exam process; speaking and listening, comprehension, written and oral examination. A native speaker is an advantage and a teaching qualification and some experience is essential. Other opportunities for getting involved in the school to create a full time position is a possibility.
We are looking for a kind and inspirational maths teacher for our small senior department, who can inspire the most reluctant student and turn them around! Maths really can be fun! We have 4 groups in the seniors with around 6-10 pupils in each. You will need to be able to differentiate and treat each and every child as an individual, moving the faster learner on and the more reluctant at their pace. Hands on mathematical activities and using our lovely outside areas are things we encourage to bring the maths curriculum alive. We have a lovely maths room and we like to involve our small team in other areas of the school, such as registration, parliament and other subjects of interest. It is possible to create a full time job taking on any of the above subjects outlined.
