Job overview

Thomas Carr College is located in Tarneit, west of Melbourne. We currently have 1200 students. The College serves the parishes of St James and St Peter's in Hoppers Crossing.     

We are a vibrant learning community and have an innovative Year 9 Program.      

Applications are invited for the following senior leadership position, commencing January 29 2019.     

-      Outdoor Education Teacher - (based in Coragulac, 11km from Colac)

The successful applicants will have demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.    

The successful applicants will hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration.

Thomas Carr College is a co-educational Catholic high school located in Tarneit, in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. Catering for students in Years 7 to 12, they currently educate approximately 1200 students.

Facilities

Thomas Carr College is situated on over 10 hectares of spacious grounds incorporating modern, state of the art facilities consisting of a newly built Middle School Science Centre, art and design rooms, technology (IT, materials, food, wood, fibre, media) laboratories, a well resourced Information Centre, drama and music rooms, along with a fully equipped gymnasium. The college has a first class oval for football and cricket, 8 multipurpose courts for tennis and basketball and practice areas for hockey and cricket. A ten-year building plan will see the development of a new Middle School, a Performing Arts Centre and a Student Services precinct. 

Curriculum

Thomas Carr College Thomas Carr College is a member of the Association of Co-educational Schools (ACS). This gives students the opportunity to participate in an extensive weekly sport program. Through this program qualities of teamwork, school spirit and sportsmanship are promoted. This is in addition to a range of extra curricula activities including debating, public speaking, instrumental music and drama. In 2012 the College entered into a partnership with the Australian Catholic University whereby its offers Year 12 students Advanced Standing Studies.
