New Horizons Federation is currently entering an exciting new phase in its development. We are seeking 2 Outreach & Reintegration Officers to join our team delivering a range of intervention programmes and strategies to local schools. The focus of the work is to provide early intervention support, in-school reintegration support and work in partnership with schools, students and parents / carers to successfully reduce permanent exclusions.

We are looking for confident individuals who have a background in mainstream school and can work with staff both in the PRU and in local schools to ensure students are appropriately prepared for successful return to mainstream school. These roles are diverse and exciting and require colleagues who are able to represent the Federation professionally, be flexible and able to work across different schools in the Borough and have an organised approach to ensure work is completed to deadlines and to the high standard expected. Independent working as well as being part of a team is a feature of these posts.

We are seeking individuals who have the ability to think on their feet, find a solution to every problem and are not willing to accept anything other than the best from themselves or the students in their care. Dynamic individuals who want to be part of the new vision for the Federation where students are able to access timely support and develop the skills required to become positive members of our community are the type of people we are seeking.

This is an opportunity for experienced and skilled practitioners from a range of backgrounds but with the skills to promote inclusion in the widest sense to make a real difference to children’s lives. A proven background in delivering intervention programmes, providing support to young people and their families and building capacity in families and schools are essential. This is an outward facing service which is constantly developing and shaping to meet the needs of our stakeholders.

If you have enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to work with some of the most vulnerable and complex young people in our community, we would welcome your application. High aspirations and a relentless approach towards excellence are the key skills we are looking for alongside the ability to deliver to agreed timescales, monitor outcomes and engage effectively with stakeholders.

For further information and an informal conversation about the role, contact Emma Stubbington (Head of Outreach) on 0208 312 2746 ext.205 or for an application pack contact yvonne.dye@newhorizonsfederation.org.uk

References will be requested for those short listed ONLY and prior to interview.

Only those shortlisted for interview will be contacted.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks.

The school is committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The schooltherefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
