Located in Waltham Forest, the Trust comprises Joseph Clarke School (for children with vision impairment and /or additional needs), Whitefield School (for pupils with complex needs including autism, learning difficulties and sensory and physical impairments), Professional Development Services and the highly successful Project SEARCH East London.

We are expert in serving children and young people with SEND and giving them the tools, skills and confidence to move on to the next stages of their education and lives.


The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher with substantial experience in working with children and young people with autism to join our multidisciplinary Outreach Service. This is a chance to work with outstanding colleagues in a service that promotes inclusion through advice for mainstream school staff, children and their families. This position is mostly supporting secondary schools with some work in primary schools.


As an outreach teacher you will:

 

  • Support mainstream primary and secondary schools to ensure inclusion for pupils with autism.
  • offer tailored advice and support for staff working with students on the autistic spectrum. 
  • provide whole school training and individual staff training covering best practice and the latest ideas and guidance.
  • help with the creation of online training and guidance materials and videos.
  • support parents and carers;
  • work in partnership with other agencies. 


Own transport is essential. We are looking for a teacher who can join the team from September 2022.
