Merton Court is the ideal Independent Co-educational Day School. It is Sidcup's oldest established preparatory school, founded in 1899 situated in the London Borough of Bexley. It is a small, family-run, private school with a caring community atmosphere where traditional values and a progressive environment meet to give modern children the best possible start in life.
We are delighted to have exciting opportunity to join the School team in the very important role of PA/HR officer.  Working under the direction of the Business Manager you will take responsibility for the smooth running of operational HR support within the school.

The successful candidate will be joining a team that works to make the education of our children possible. As our successful candidate you have strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines. You have experience working in a customer facing position and are comfortable on the phone, face to face and by email, facing internal and external customers. You have experience working in an HR administrative role within a school setting and you will have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality in safeguarding procedures.
We offer you, a position in a family run, pastorally strong and effective team, comprising of staff of over 50+ with 320 children on roll. Besides a competitive salary we offer annual increases subject to the Proprietors discretion, Xmas bonus and other bonus opportunities for excellent performance. Lunch, tea and coffee are all provided by the school.

Actual Hours: 21 hours per week / Term Time (38 weeks) + 4 weeks
Salary: £11,000 - £13,000
Starting date: ASAP (preferably before Christmas)

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school  therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
