PA to Head Teacher

(Full time hours, Term time + 1 week)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Teacher

Primary purpose of the job:

To provide confidential, efficient PA support to the Headteacher:

• To act as the first point of contact with the Headteacher in all matters, and in all dealings to demonstrate care, diplomacy, professionalism and courtesy.
• To be a member of the Senior Leadership Team; to attend, contribute and lead items as appropriate.
• To ensure all queries to the Headteacher from staff, students, parents/carers, governors, local authority and external agencies are dealt with on a day-to-day basis.
• To act as ambassador for the school and Head Teacher
• To deal with confidential information and taking forward issues on behalf of the Head Teacher
• Applicants are expected to have been educated to degree level

Person Specification

Essential Skills

At least 3 year’s high level PA experience; ability to think strategically and contribute to the school development plan; excellent IT skills - in particular, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and databases as well as their Apple equivalents; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent research skills; excellent organisational skills and experience of using, maintaining and developing administrative systems; to understand the need for confidentiality and data protection; ability to meet deadlines.
