Job overview

PA TO THE HEADTEACHER

The Headteacher is looking for a creative, reliable and passionate Personal Assistant who will be able to have a significant impact on our continued development as a school. This role has many requirements but above all else it is for someone who the Headteacher can trust implicitly and who is strategic and proactive in what will inevitably be a busy and close professional relationship. The PA will multi-task, plan ahead and keep a firm handle on the day to day activities as well as the annual rhythms in the school calendar.  Being able to meet deadlines with high quality work which demonstrates attention to detail is a prerequisite.

Tring School can offer the successful candidate:

  • An outstanding experience at senior support staff level, with involvement in all aspects of the school’s leadership
  • Significant opportunities for professional development both in this school and further afield
  • The chance to work with exceptionally committed colleagues who have high expectations of students and staff
  • An environment where excitement, innovation and inspiration are the norm

Tring School is popular and over-subscribed, serving the town of Tring and the surrounding villages. It is a mixed Church of England all-ability school, 1500+ on roll, over 300 Post-16. Academic attainment is well above average and improving year on year. The school strives to support and encourage individual growth within a caring community. We have a talented team of staff who are ambitious to become outstanding in all areas of our work.

Ofsted Inspection January 2014, 'Teaching is good overall with outstanding features. Teaching is outstanding in the sixth form. Students of all abilities show high achievement in a wide range of subjects. Students are very attentive and behave well in lessons.'

If you are interested at the prospect of working in an environment where you can have real impact, and where exciting things are happening, then we welcome an application from you.

37 hours per week term time, plus 6 weeks.

For full details and job description please see attached Applicant info pack.

Please submit a copy of the school’s application form, together with a letter of application, to Mrs Sue Collings, Headteacher by 9am on Wednesday 7 June 2017 at hr@tringschool.org

Interviews will be held on Friday 16 June 2017.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
