Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, employer training and adult learning provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels. 


The Exciting Role 

The College Group is looking for a full-time, permanent SLT Support Officer to join our dedicated SLT Support team in providing comprehensive PA/administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team. The role will involve the co-ordination, preparation and minute taking of senior meetings, extensive diary management, planning and arranging events, making travel bookings, dealing with telephone queries and project work. 


The successful candidate will also be responsible for diary management and note-taking in meetings and will have experience of working in a varied administrative role, creating an ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads.


This role will be based at our Nelson & Colne College site, however, travel across sites may be required.

What You Will Be Doing

• To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team to research information and draft reports for review as assigned by the Senior Leadership Team 

• Diary management and note-taking, arranging internal and external meetings as required

• To undertake specific project work as and when required 

• Effectively co-ordinate and provide administrative support (including accurate minute taking) for internal and external meetings involving Senior Managers 

• To maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters

• Maintain process, procedures and file documentation as required


What We Are Looking For:

• 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above

• Experience of providing PA/ Secretarial support

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload

• Ability to respect confidentiality

• Proven experience of working in a busy office environment

• Experience of using initiative and displaying effective decision-making skills

• Experience of working in the Further Education Sector would be desirable 

• Able to work under pressure and as a Team.

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
