The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and efficient PA to join our team providing the full range of PA/Secretarial support to the Head Master.

You will be an individual that is already working at a similar level and looking for a fresh challenge. You will be highly competent at managing the Head Masters’ diary, ensuring the Head Master is briefed for all meetings with relevant correspondence in addition to preparing agendas, attending meetings, and taking notes.

This key administrative position is an opportunity for an experienced PA to become immersed in the heart of boarding school life. No two days are the same, and you will be engaging with people from both within and external to the College in this front facing role. As gate-keeper to and spokesperson for the Head Master you will feel comfortable communicating verbally, on paper and online, and have the highest levels of organisation and discretion.

About You

  • PA experience at senior management level.
  • High degree of confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Strong literacy skills. 
  • Excellent telephone manner. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. 
  • Flexibility to work early or late and at weekends as necessary. Time off in lieu would be taken during school holidays. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages. 
  • Experience of arranging meetings and minute taking. 
  • Strong organisation, administration, telephone and interpersonal communication skills and with the ability to deal with people at all levels. 
  • Highly organised, methodical, self-motivated, with a proactive approach to work. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and able to prioritise a changing and challenging workload. 
  • Ability to work positively and effectively when under pressure. 
  • Ability to deal efficiently, tactfully, politely and confidentially with governors, staff, parents, pupils, visitors and members of the public, occasionally in difficult situations. 
  •  A positive, friendly, discreet, empathetic, reliable and energetic outlook.
