Harnham Junior School’s Governing Body is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed Parent Support Advisor.

The role of Parent Support Advisor is to address underachievement in children by supporting parents and carers with the range of difficulties they may be experiencing.

You will be an experienced practitioner in working with parents and young children. You will possess effective communication skills, be well organised, have the ability to prioritise workloads and work on your own initiative, and be able to deal with difficult situations and/or individuals in a calm and confident manner.

The person we are looking for will be, either an experienced Parent Support Advisor or have experience working in a similar field with children and families and be supportive of our Vision, which is based on each child’s ability to be an independent engaged learner.

We look for:

   • Awareness of the legislation affecting school attendance requirements.

   • Experience and understanding of delivering individual or group based support

   • Experience and understanding of children within their context.

   • A sound knowledge of the available support services and referral routes available

We offer you

   •       Receptive, motivated and probably the best families anywhere

   • A vibrant team environment in which you will receive training, trust and responsibility

   • A proven, supportive, professional development environment in which we all learn and progress

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed, please contact Mr Coles (the Headteacher) to arrange a visit. Closing date for applications is at noon on Friday 7th July 2017.
