Reporting to:  Head of School 

Hours: Part time - 2 days/ 14.4 hours per week (term time only - 40 weeks per year)

We are looking to appoint a highly organised and efficient Admissions Officer, who will be  responsible for the recruitment and admissions of students to the whole school. Working closely with staff from each area of the school, liaising with other schools and directly with applicants. 

You'll be expected to participate in recruitment activities such as Open Days and evening events, and to support other Admissions activities in a professional and flexible manner.  

You will be required to work over the main enrollment period which will be discussed at interview

Admissions

To oversee the schools admissions processes

Liaising and working with the local authority

Attending parents’ evenings / induction evenings

Presenting at the admissions committee

Accepting and processing admissions documents

Organising mid-year admissions meetings

To manage the Admissions process for the new Year 7 intake. 

Ensuring all Policies and Procedures are up to date, including liaison with the appropriate authorities/Governing Body

Liaison with Local Authority

Dealing with Parental enquiries

Ensuring all student data is inputted into SIMS database

Undertake all training relevant to the role, including Parental Responsibility training

To assist in the preparation of Open Evening and to attend Open Evening to provide guidance to prospective parents

Other tasks associated with new intake admissions process

Organising and managing the waiting list

Sending/Receipt and management of the CTF files with the data manager

Responsible for the Appeals Procedures, liaising with appropriate bodies and ensuring all relevant information is provided

Ensure Appeals Policy/Procedure is up to date and complies with current legislation

To manage the In-Year Admissions process, ensuring that all year groups are at capacity. Responsibilities and tasks to include:

Ensuring all Policies and Procedures are up to date, including liaison with the appropriate authorities/Governing Body

Timely offering of available places, including undertaking all necessary checks e.g. address, date of birth

To assist the Key Stage Leader in the assignment of students to required set lists for all year groups in preparation for the start of the academic year.

To provide management information and student statistics (relevant to Admissions) to the Leadership Group, the Governing Body and teaching staff, as appropriate.

To be responsible for administration of Data Tasks, such as:

Data Input

Filing

Dealing with enquiries and requests for information

Sending/Receipt of CTF files

Skills and experience

We are looking for candidates who have;

  • ideally worked in a similar education environment
  • strong IT skills (experience of using SIMS and Go4schools an advantage)
  • good organisation and planning skills 
  • strong people skills 
  • experience of managing Year 7 admissions 
  • able to show initiative and a flexible approach.
