Nelson and Colne College, an Ofsted Outstanding College situated in Pendle, Lancashire, are looking for a talented ESOL teacher to join their talented and dedicated team. 

Providing outstanding ESOL learning experience to young people (ages 16+), primarily based across the sites within the organisation. The successful candidate will be an innovative practitioner looking for a new and exciting opportunity. Working around 21 hours per week, with learners from pre-entry level up to level 2, it is imperative that the successful candidate is able to work very flexibly in order to accommodate the needs of our learners.

The main duties include:

• Planning, Teaching and assessing on a variety of ESOL programmes (pre-entry to level 2) 

• Planning and preparing high quality teaching and learning experiences

• Assisting students to reach their potential, and exceed their expectations


The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous teaching experience, ideally within a Post-16 setting (desirable)

• Have appropriate industrial/vocational experience

• Have a relevant teaching qualification, or be looking to work towards this

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
