Part-Time Facilities Manager

WKS is a non-maintained special school for pupils with complex education needs, many with communication problems. There are approximately 90 co-educational day and residential pupils on roll aged 5-19. The school has achieved its most recent outstanding report from OFSTED in 2016 along with its re-recognition through NAS Autism Accreditation.

Flexibility, resilience, humour and willingness to go the extra mile are essential for all staff to ensure a high standard of support for all our pupils. You should also be willing to contribute to a diverse range of extra-curricular activities.

Required 2/3 days per week, 35 hours a week Core hours 8.30am to 4.30pm, some flexible working will be required to monitor works, term time or full-time.

We are looking for an individual who wants to be a part of developing the schools existing site team, including maintenance and cleaning and introduce regimes for monitoring the quality of works completed across the site.

The successful candidate will be required to provide Health and Safety Guidance and ensure that the practices and procedures are conducted in line with legal compliance needs applicable to the school.

We expect the appointed person to be skilled in all aspects of COSHH and IOSH. The role will require close working relationships with an established maintenance team in the weekly planning of works required and weekly check and sign off of completed tasks. The Facilities

Manager will also act as a line manager for the maintenance and cleaning services operated at the school reporting all aspects to the Business Manager on a weekly basis.
