Nelson and Colne College are an Ofsted Outstanding College with an excellent local reputation. We are looking for part-time hourly paid teachers to join our Business Unit and Functional Skills team, who can deliver ICT, Maths & English.
Main duties include:
· Teach on a range of programmes delivering effective learning (Functional Skills – ICT, Maths & English)
· Plan and prepare high quality teaching and learning
· Develop and share resources for the course/subject
· Maintain comprehensive, up to date, records and provide information as requested using College systems to track and communicate student progress
· Ensure close liaison and good communications with colleagues
The ideal candidate will have:
· Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification
· Recognised teaching qualification (or a willingness to achieve one within the first 3 years of appointment)
· A higher degree or advanced qualification
· Successful teaching experience in a relevant subject area (Functional Skills – ICT, Maths & English)
· Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver the curriculum successfully
· Demonstrate a student centred approach to teaching and learning

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms.
Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
