School Cleaner 

Location: Darwen, Lancashire

Salary: £11.00 p/hr 

Hours: 10 hours per week term time only 

The Aurora Woodlands School is an 'Good' rated innovative provider of education and care, supporting students aged 10 - 19 with complex needs typically related to Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism and other conditions.

We’re currently looking for a part time Cleaner working Monday to Friday 7.15am to 9.15am, Term Time Only.  

 

The Role:

To provide a cleaning service for the school across all types of rooms, including offices, classrooms, laboratories, halls, corridors, and toilets.

 

Key Duties:

  • Duties to include the following:
  • Vacuum cleaning floors.
  • Spot cleaning of spillages.
  • Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass.
  • Emptying and cleaning bins (daily).
  • Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds.
  • Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces.
  • Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing.
  • Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily).
  • Undertake deep clean as and when required.
  • Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit.
  • Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time.

Skills and Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • Some knowledge of Health and Safety Regulation in regards to cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.
  • Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to prioritise work and be flexible.
  • Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties.
