Part-Time Site Assistant – 22.5 hours per week

Due to the growth of our all through school, we are now recruiting for a part-time Site Assistant to join our Site Team.  Previous experience of working in a school or college environment will be useful but is not essential.

The key tasks of the role will be:

• Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of premises, including buildings and grounds.

• Undertake inspections to ensure necessary safe operation and that the legislative requirements are met regarding powered equipment, machinery, chemicals, ladders, etc.

• To carry out general porterage duties and storing away of any furniture or other equipment that may be required for any functions.

• To carry out any cleaning duties that may be required both in school and in the school grounds and to carry out cleaning and janitorial tasks as required.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work constructively as part of a team and will have some understanding of facilities roles and responsibilities.  They will have excellent organisational and communication skills and basic experience in premises maintenance, along with knowledge of corresponding health and safety issues.

Whilst not essential, a clean driving licence is desirable.

Opened in 2014, and judged 'Good' by Ofsted in all areas.  The Gatwick School is a state-funded all-through school based in Crawley, West Sussex. Teaching children aged 4-16, the school is non-denominational and mixed gender. Located on Gatwick Road, it is less than a mile from the international airport of the same name.

The school can be accessed on public transport by the Metrobus network, with the Gatwick Road North bus stop situated outside the school. The Gatwick School has a breakfast club and runs OASIS clubs at the end of the day for after-school intellectual stimulation.
