Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced linguist to join our vibrant and thriving MFL Department as a part-time Spanish Teacher. 

This is a temporary role to cover maternity leave from April 2020 until either the end of the Autumn Term 2020 or the end of the Spring Term 2021.

You should be experienced at teaching Spanish across Key Stages 2-3. The ability to also teach Key Stage 2 French would be an advantage but is not essential. 

An ability to coach games and contribute to our vibrant extra-curricular provision would also be an advantage.

• be able to demonstrate a talent for motivating and enthusing young learners to achieve their best

• have excellent planning and preparation skills

• have the ability to problem-solve and manage classroom behaviour effectively

• be resilient under pressure

• show a strong commitment to promoting the well-being of pupils

• work collaboratively with colleagues

The successful candidate’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom they are responsible, or with whom they come into contact, will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the school’s Safeguarding Policy at all times. If in the course of carrying out the duties of the post the post holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risk to the safety or welfare of children in the school they must report to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and to the Headmaster.
