Manchester High School for Girls is one of the leading independent girls' day schools in the country. It is a selective, academic school and last summer's public examination results at both Advanced and GCSE level were excellent, placing the School amongst the top schools nationally.
The Department has a history of success in placing girls on Medical and Biology related courses at universities throughout the country. Other students used their Biology A-level to help them to secure university places in the subject of their choice, ranging from Marine Biology to English and Philosophy. A successful candidate would be expected to play a role in continuing, and building on, these recent successes.
