Job overview

Talbot Heath School is seeking to appoint a part-time Teacher of Computer Science. This is a permanent position on a minimum FTE of 40% ( with scope for this percentage figure to increase in future years).

Talbot Heath School has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for 2021 – 2024 for its commitment and innovation of technology in education. Opened in September 2019, The Steam Hub is an inspiring, multi-purpose building that meets the needs of interdisciplinary learning. It provides our students the opportunity to imagine, build, test and display their most imaginative ideas and designs. It takes them out of the formal classroom and into flexible, inspiring learning spaces that allow them to move across subjects and disciplines with ease.

The successful candidate will be required to teach from Key Stage 3 up to and including GCSE. A Level experience is desirable but not essential. Excellent subject knowledge, with a proven track record of successful exam outcomes is key for this role. We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner, with knowledge and skills that cover a range of technology solutions.

As a part-time member of staff there will be no requirement to be a form tutor, but a high level of flexibility and a willingness to support the school life is also expected.

APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED VIA THE TES ONLINE PORTAL

Closing Date:  22nd May 2022

Exam results count, but just as important are resilience, self-esteem, character, those life skills that are acquired as a result of a nurturing environment and an holistic approach to education.

It is during their formative years that young people develop the attitudes and values that they will hold for the rest of their lives. It is essential that they feel supported and nurtured in their learning environment.

At Talbot Heath the pupils flourish, not only academically but in every area, be it music, sport or the performing arts. Small classes, individual attention and the ability to tailor the provision to the needs of each student, ensure that pupils achieve their very best.

As the only Independent Girls’ School within the Bournemouth and wider Dorset area, Talbot Heath is unique. We are proud of our distinctive character and believe that we have stayed true to Mary Broad’s vision of first class education for girls with a modern twist.
