We educate students rather than simply train them to pass tests.  Take a look at our website to find out how we prepare children for a life of adventure:  https://www.sidcot.org.uk

We seek a well-qualified and enthusiastic part-time Teacher of Learning Support to provide one-to-one and small group interventions in both maths and literacy with KS3 and KS4 students. Ooccasional work with KS5 pupils may be required.  You will join a supportive and well-qualified team, which is committed to helping each and every child reach their potential.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be a learning support teacher who has, or is working towards, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties or equivalent.  Possession of AMBDA or APC is highly desirable along with experience of standardised assessments. You will have experience of using multi-sensory teaching methods; proven experience of working effectively on a one-to-one basis or with small groups; be able to establish effective relationships with students, parents and teaching staff; and be sympathetic to the Quaker ethos of the school.

The Learning Support Department provides personalized one to one, or small group lessons, designed to support students’ ability to access and participate in the high quality teaching and learning available throughout the school, as well as providing advice and support for teaching colleagues on the needs of SEND students.  We have experience in supporting mild to moderate conditions such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, SpLD, ASD and ADD/ADHD.

Sidcot School is a thriving independent day and boarding school set in glorious countryside just 7 miles south of Bristol Airport. Our Quaker principles encourage us to ‘Live Adventurously’ and we approach school life at Sidcot in a way that develops curiosity and confidence and a life-long love of learning.
