We seek a well-qualified and enthusiastic part-time Teacher of Learning Support to provide one-to-one and small group interventions in both maths and literacy with KS3 and KS4 students. Ooccasional work with KS5 pupils may be required. You will join a supportive and well-qualified team, which is committed to helping each and every child reach their potential.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be a learning support teacher who has, or is working towards, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties or equivalent. Possession of AMBDA or APC is highly desirable along with experience of standardised assessments. You will have experience of using multi-sensory teaching methods; proven experience of working effectively on a one-to-one basis or with small groups; be able to establish effective relationships with students, parents and teaching staff; and be sympathetic to the Quaker ethos of the school.
Candidates must be prepared to work flexibly in terms of hours and days worked. The post represents a 80% contract (but may be subject to variation according to needs)
The Learning Support Department provides personalized one to one, or small group lessons, designed to support students’ ability to access and participate in the high quality teaching and learning available throughout the school, as well as providing advice and support for teaching colleagues on the needs of SEND students. We have experience in supporting mild to moderate conditions such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, SpLD, ASD and ADD/ADHD.
