Job overview

For November 2022, Exeter School seeks a well-qualified and enthusiastic part-time (0.3) psychology teacher to cover a maternity absence. The role will involve sharing the teaching of three A Level classes.

It is essential to hold a psychology qualification and to have had some prior experience of teaching psychology to A Level standard. We are looking for someone willing to work closely with the Head of Psychology to build on the successes of this department. A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school through cultural, sporting or other extra-curricular activities would also be beneficial.

Completed application forms, together with a covering letter should be uploaded to the TES jobsite.

Closing date for applications: Thursday 9 June, noon

Anticipated interview date: Wednesday 15 June

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and responsibility. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All staff working in the school during the school day will have some contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. In your role you are likely to be regularly working directly with, and be responsible for, children in your care.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
