Vision for Education is looking to appoint a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work in a local primary school in the Sunderland area. This is a long-term supply Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (TA) role, which will commence in April 2020 and continue until July 2020.

The role

Working as part of a dynamic Key Stage 1 team, the successful Teaching Assistant (TA) will focus on delivering one to one support to an individual with ASC. This role will mainly be based outside of the classroom, delivering tailored support to help the individual access the curriculum. Although the pupil is currently in Key Stage 1 (KS1) the pupil is performing at Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) level. This would be a part time role, working Monday to Friday 08:30 – 12:30 each day. This role may have the potential to become full time, later down the line for the right person. 

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are minimum of a Level 2 qualification in childcare and experience of working on a one to one basis.

This average sized primary, which is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, where leaders and governors have worked effectively to continue to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment across all key stages. The work around pupils’ welfare and personal development is outstanding within this local primary school.

Requirements

To be considered for the Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (TA) position, you will:

• Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Childcare

• Have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in a Key Stage 1 environment

• Be experienced in working with a child on a one to one basis

• Have experience of supporting children with ASC

• Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff

• Ideally have experience delivering occasional one to one support
