Job overview

Are you looking for a new challenge in a successful and innovative organisation?

Trust Financial Accountant

This is an exceptional opportunity to shape a new role in an exciting and growing organisation.

We are looking to appoint a highly capable Financial Accountant who, as part of the Trust’s central team, will play an essential role in developing and maintaining accurate financial reporting across the Trust. In return, we can offer a varied, challenging and exciting role in a growing organisation.

This role will support the Finance Director with Trust reporting including reconciliation of Trust Balance Sheet control accounts, preparation and submission of returns, budgeting and monthly monitoring. The role will also involve providing support to School Business Managers to develop the quality of reporting.

You will need to be CCAB fully qualified and have experience of working in accounting and financial management. You will also have excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage conflicting demands. We are happy to offer this role on a part time, term time only or full time basis for the right candidate.

This is an exciting time for the River Learning Trust. The Trust currently consists of five secondary schools, nine primary schools and a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) provider; we have a secondary Free School in pre-opening and are in discussions with a number of other secondary and primary schools as the Trust is preparing for further growth in the coming years.

The River Learning Trust can offer candidates exceptional opportunities for professional and personal development. We pride ourselves on supporting staff to be highly successful, recognising that success comes in a wide variety of ways, growing a culture of continual improvement where we look to provide the best possible educational experience for all our pupils.

Our Vision

Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At the River Learning Trust we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. All of the schools in the River Learning Trust are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to a series of three principles:

  • Commitment to Excellence
  • Everyone Learning
  • Respectful Relationships

Within our vision:

  • Each school has its own unique character and ethos, reflecting local communities and their needs and priorities
  • The Trust establishes collective and collaborative autonomy where the drive for excellence comes from within the schools, to the benefit of all schools in the Trust
  • The relationships within the Trust ensure genuine and impactful joint accountability – the outcomes for all of the pupils in all of the schools matter to everyone
  • Schools continue to take responsibility for their own performance and character within a Trust context which provides both support and challenge
