Dates:             Job start August 2017 

Salary:            £40,070 + benefits (roles in London receive £3,000 LWA) 

Contract:       1x Permanent & 1x FTC (November 2017 - October 2018)

Developing outstanding Teach First teachers   We’re recruiting qualified teachers with the potential to lead, coach and mentor our participants to help put a stop to educational inequality. As a Participant Development Lead you will work in a community of expert practitioners and provide exceptional support to participants throughout their two year training programme. You will ensure they complete the programme, achieve profound pupil impact in their classrooms, and develop into lifelong leaders working towards the Teach First vision where no child’s educational success is   limited by their socio-economic background.       

You will ensure participants are equipped with all the skills required for success when they enter the classroom and enable strong pupil outcomes throughout their two year commitment. You will coach and mentor participants to ensure they make rapid and sustained progress, as well as brokering specialist support from a variety of sources, where necessary. You will also support participants to build their own networks, thus enabling them to support their own teaching and leadership development, resilience and wellbeing. All of this work will support our participants to engage as the next generation of leaders in the movement to end educational inequality as ambassadors (alumni) of the Teach First Programme.

Experience required   

•Qualified teacher status (PGCE, or equivalent)    

•Extensive teaching experience essential    

•Proven leadership skills, with the ability to hold others to account   

 •Extensive experience in developing classroom practice and supporting and developing trainee teachers    

•Experience in the required phases for each area (please see the full job description for more information)        

Location   

You’ll work with schools across a local geographical area and when you’re not visiting participants then the local Teach First office will be your base (with options to work from home too).
