Job overview

Participant Development Lead (Secondary) - Time to Teach Programme

English, Maths or Science specialism

Yorkshire and Humber and North West Regions

Permanent

The link between low income and low academic attainment is greater in the UK than almost any other developed nation. Children eligible for free school meals are less likely to get good GCSEs and go on to higher education. This makes it more likely they will struggle throughout their lives, widening social inequality. It’s a cycle that we’re determined to break.

We work with thousands of brilliant teachers, schools, universities and partners in England and Wales and our new Time to Teach programme, launching in April 2019, is designed specifically for people looking to become a teacher following experience in another career. As such, we’re now looking for an outstanding candidate to become a Participant Development Lead, providing exceptional training and development support to these trainee teachers, helping them to become exceptional teachers and lifelong leaders in the movement to tackle educational inequality.

Ideal candidates will have qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience of working in a leadership capacity within a school environment. You will have evidence of delivering great outcomes for students, have outstanding knowledge of Teachers’ Standards, a minimum of two years’ teacher training or development experience, and experience of teaching in a range of institutions across England and/or Wales with a particular focus on those serving low-income communities. In addition, you will have a subject specialism in English, Maths or Science and have experience of designing training related to this.

Along with the satisfaction of knowing you are making a real difference, you will also receive £40,070 per annum & excellent benefits.

We trust our people and believe that you do your best work when you can balance your work and home life. Our Agile working policy lets you agree with your line manager when and where you work most effectively.

The day when no child’s future is limited by their background is coming, yet, there is still more to be done. Join us and help us ensure every child in the UK has a fair shot at achieving their ambitions.
