Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities and Premises team as a Caretaker at Cuddington Community Primary School. This is an opportunity to use your skills; candidates should be experienced in site maintenance and building services with basic carpentry, painting and decorating skills.

Hours variable:

Ideally between 10.30am and 6.15pm with an unpaid lunch break.  However there is flexibility and this can be worked as a split shift to start earlier and allow a longer break in the middle of the day but a 6.15pm is essentially to lock up the premises.

This role could be covered by two part-time caretakers but priority would be given to the later shift being covered e.g. 2.30pm to 6.15pm.

On occasions there is some evening work as directed by the Line Manager.

Applications are particularly welcomed from aspiring and experienced individuals with a skill set which may include; site maintenance and building services with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or painting and decorating.

You will need to be a self-starter and able to demonstrate a practical and confident approach, as the role involves some lone working.

A current driving licence is essential for this role.

THPT value their staff very highly, as reflected in the excellent retention rates across the Trust.

THPT can offer:

  • An opportunity to be part of a dynamic and developing organisation.
  • Excellent benefit package to include Cycle to Work, Sainsbury’s Loyalty Discount and access to discount schemes.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Rewards and Benefits Scheme that includes Loyalty and Service Awards.

Interviews may be held earlier than the closing date by mutual agreement, early applications are encouraged.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The Howard Partnership Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
