Job overview

Royal Greenwich Trust School, part of the University Schools Trust, is an expanding start-up 11-18 school in the heart of Royal Greenwich.

In 2017, RGTS was established with an initial cohort of year 7 students and a sixth form provision.

In 2020, we opened our brand new £14 million building and moved into the next stage of the school’s growth as our inaugural cohort moved into Key Stage 4.

Our continued growth afforded us the opportunity to increase our staff team and September 2021 saw our school fully staffed as we welcomed our final year group into the school.

This appointment presents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to play a significant role in shaping the future of our growing learning community within our school.

We are looking for colleagues who are:

  • Unrelenting in their pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their practice
  • Successful in working with young people and securing the best outcomes for them
  • Team spirited and prepared to go above and beyond to get the job done.

Working with us guarantees the opportunity to:

  • Be an integral part of a growing school/Trust with potential for career development
  • Develop links with our wider UST network for CPD and collaborative practice

Interested candidates are encouraged to arrange an informal discussion about the role. These can be organised via Shona Green, Senior HR Advisor via green.s@rgtrustschool.net

About Royal Greenwich Trust School

Royal Greenwich Trust School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in South East London.

The school was known as Royal Greenwich UTC before it reopened as a new provision in September 2016. A smaller than average secondary school, it now provides 750 places to students in years 7-11 when fully subscribed plus places occupied by our sixth form students.

As a member of the University Schools Trust, we are privileged to be part of a network of universities - University of Warwick, University College London, University of East London, University of Greenwich, Kings College London and Queen Mary University.

Our network universities offer support, guidance and a wealth of exciting opportunities that help promote academic excellence, as well as develop our students into thoughtful, confident, well-rounded individuals.

We are committed to ensuring that all our staff are given the opportunity to grow and develop as professionals and are given the skills and training required to realise their ambitions in their own careers.

Whatever your role in the school, we are committed to ensuring that you receive the opportunities needed to develop in your career.

Caroline Toye, Headteacher
