We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Pastoral Co-ordinator with SEMH/ASC experience to join our brand new team at Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucester. Someone who takes a more creative approach to teaching and leadership would be perfect for this role.

About the School:

Brookthorpe Hall School is a new independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 7 to 14, catering for children with a wide range of needs, SEMH/ASD/Complex trauma. Our dedicated team will work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

About the Role:

We need highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a real difference. We want people who will go above and beyond to make a difference for each young person and most importantly someone who cares and is compassionate.

When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Pastoral Support Co-ordinator, who can work with individual and small groups of children, preparing classrooms and materials, and building positive relationships with pupils to promote interaction and learning. 

Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. We need people who share our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

About the Role:

Experience in behaviour management and social development is preferred but not essential as we will train, support and promote you to ensure you have an amazing career. All you need is the drive to make a difference and a focus on the positive outcomes for our children and the right personality.

You will spend your time assisting the young people at the times that they are managing the least. You will be there when they’re upset, when they don’t believe in themselves and when the need an arm around their shoulder. You will be a key staff member,  a highly effective team committed to getting the best from the young people.

This role however, does come with some potential challenges, behaviour management is essential because you will be working on the front line with young people who can find life challenging. You will need to be mentally and physically fit and resilient.
