We are a very successful 11-18 academy with strong KS4 achievement and a newly opened sixth form in September 2014. Southmoor is the lead school in a Multi Academy Trust. We are seeking a committed, proactive professional to manage a designated Pastoral House of pupils in Key Stages 3 & 4. This crucial post involves leading a team of tutors, to ensure positive outcomes for pupils in terms of their welfare and personal development, maintaining high standards of attendance, behaviour and attitudes to learning. The position would be suited to someone with proven experience of leading a team and working with young people in a pastoral capacity, in a school environment.

Southmoor Academy is a mixed, non-denominational, non-selective secondary school with sixth form, located in Grangetown, Sunderland. The school has 1,132 places for students aged 11-18.
Formerly Southmoor Community School, Southmoor Academy converted to academy status in 2012, with its sixth form opening in 2014. It is supported by the Southmoor Multi Academy Trust. The school boasts state-of-the-art facilities including science labs and a cyber cafe. Half of its sixth-form leavers go on to study at Russell Group universities.
