Please note we have no parking available onsite.

We are a specialist school in Music and Science.  We are a mixed comprehensive secondary school and welcome both students and staff from a diverse multicultural background.  With over 1,600 students, we are a larger than average school in the London Borough of Newham.  The school benefits from being located in new and purpose built accommodation on a single site with ample outdoor areas and the use of an all-weather sports pitch.

The school is led by a team of senior leaders who are enthusiastic and experienced and, alongside all staff, share a positive and united vision for the school’s future.  With an improved curriculum, vertical tutoring and house systems, Lister provides a well rounded and balanced experience for students.

Resource Provision for Deaf Children: Lister Community School hosts the Resourced Provision for secondary aged Deaf children in Newham. Specialist staff support students using a variety of communication modes such as BSL, SSE and Auditory Oral. Deaf students are taught alongside their hearing peers in mainstream classes for the majority of their lessons. The Deaf Support Department is made up of a large team of Communication Support Workers and Qualified Teachers of the Deaf who work with the deaf students in mainstream classes as well as small groups and 1:1. Deaf students may also have access to Deaf Awareness sessions and pre and post teaching.

Newham Community Learning:  Our school is part of Newham Community Learning, which exists in order to provide an excellent education for all young people in our community.  We are the only Trust to offer all-through provision from ages 2 - 16 within a single family of schools in Newham. Across our two primary and four secondary schools, all located in the west of the borough, we educate over 5,400 local children and young people, and employ a team of  close to 700 members of staff, the vast majority of whom live locally.
