Job overview

Queensmead House School is our brand new, co-educational SEN provision in Windsor. The school will be on the same site as the former Queensmead School which has wonderful views of Windsor Castle and offers a truly inspirational environment for our young people. As Pastoral Manager, you'll help us meet our young peoples' emotional needs and lead our Pastoral Team. You'll help transform the lives of up to 40 young people with SEN aged 5-11, educating, inspiring, engaging and realising their potential. You'll have plans in place to see that our young people, whatever their needs, have dignity and respect and leave the school feeling proud of what they've achieved and what theyre capable of. And with the backing of the broader management team, a range of supporting specialists and state-of-the-art facilities, we know we're all set for a bright future.

That's why we're looking for someone who's pretty unique. Our new Pastoral Manager will be committed to fulfilling the potential of each and every one of our young people, no matter what their educational needs (including emotional and social difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and speech and language communication difficulties), you share our belief that all young people are capable of achieving great things. With a focus on attendance, behavioural, pastoral and welfare issues, in order to maximise the learning opportunities and ultimately outcomes for your children and young people.

As a Pastoral Care Manager already, you'll ideally have experience of dealing with complex education needs, as you'll need to connect with our young people; understanding what makes them unique and working to make a real difference to their social and emotional development. But none of this fazes you, as it's what you're passionate about. And why you'll fit right in.

Queensmead House School will one of our largest schools with capacity of up to 130 young people between the ages of 5 and 19, 40 of whom will be in the secondary provision. The school will include a full size sports hall, MUGA, and specialist classrooms for science, food technology, DT and computing. Pupils will be supported in small class sizes (maximum of 8), by well qualified and experienced staff who are able to offer an extensive range of academic, practical, vocational, sport and leisure activities, to support both a young person's educational achievements and social and communication skills.

For children and young people with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That's what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. We are a leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication diffi culties, complex learning needs and challenging behaviours. We have a reputation for excellence and of achieving the highest possible outcomes. In short, we're enhancing life opportunities.

Holidays
35 days a year with school holidays accrued from working 42.6 hours rather than 37.

If you would like to discuss the role further, or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact the Recruitment Team on 015395 66081 option 3.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
