We are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and motivated Pastoral Support Assistants to join our team supporting students in KS3 and KS4.  The successful candidates will be expected to support our Student Development Managers and the Senior Leadership Team in monitoring students' academic progress and developing intervention strategies where appropriate.  You will be liaising with staff and parents regarding the appropriate identification of individuals and groups of learners requiring support together with mentoring students in relation to academic progress, attendance and behaviour.  These roles are key in addressing the needs of students who require additional support in overcoming barriers to achievement together with developing positive behaviour systems and procedures.  You are welcome to express in your application if you have a preference as to which key stage you would like to be attached to.

The role requires strong communication skills as you will be liaising with students, staff, parents and external agencies as well as providing reports on students' progress.

Based in Flintshire County, Castell Alun High School is a very successful secondary school for children aged between 11 and 18, with over 1350 students on roll.  Around 360 of those are in sixth form. It is an English medium comprehensive situated in the village of Hope, Flintshire.
