Aspire Academy Bexley, Endeavour Academy Bexley and Horizons Academy Bexley are all part of the New Horizons Hub which provides a continuum of education, and support and guidance for pupils in Bexley and beyond whose needs are not best met in a mainstream school.  We work closely with local stakeholders including primary and secondary schools in Bexley and the Local Authority as well as a wide range of support agencies to ensure that we can deliver the best education, interventions and opportunities for our pupils.  Our offer is not only in our schools but beyond them in supporting pupils at risk of exclusion in the local community.  Our aspirations are high for all of our children and young people and we believe in inclusion in the widest sense.  Our ethos is of engagement and positive participation, a message we communicate to pupils, our staff and our stakeholders. “For further information about the schools please visit the website: www.newhorizonsfederation.org.uk

We are seeking to appoint a Pastoral Support Co-ordinator as part of the New Horizons Hub Inclusion Team. As a new addition to the London South East Academies Trust, we have three successful schools deemed either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’; Endeavour Academy, Horizons Academy and Aspire. As a Pastoral Support Co-ordinator you will be driven to improve student attendance and address safeguarding concerns in order to ensure students are able to engage, achieve and be fulfilled. The successful candidate will become a Designated Lead to support Designated Leads within SLT in continuing to safeguard the most hard to reach and vulnerable students within the local area, whilst working in partnership with a wide audience to maintain regular attendance and punctuality including the Attendance Intervention Worker and Careers & Transition staff. This is an opportunity for a passionate, skilled practitioner to join a team with solid standards and high expectations.

We will provide an environment for a skilled practitioner to use their skills and experience to tackle non-engagement and wellbeing concerns. Your resilience, professionalism and systems-led approach will consistently drive forward New Horizons visions, where students are at the heart of our daily practice. High aspirations and a relentless approach towards excellence are embraced. If you have these skills and are enthusiastic and committed, we would welcome your application

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school  therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
