Job overview

If you relish the opportunity of working with highly motivated students in a supportive and stimulating professional environment, George Abbot School would welcome your application. This is a superb opportunity to take responsibility for the personal development and pastoral care of students at a high-performing school: our students are positive, engage and want to do well.

We are seeking a superb teacher to lead one of our year groups of 300 students. At George Abbot, these roles are known as Inclusion Managers. You will be assisted by a full time non-teaching Head of Year, in addition.

It is essential that you are committed to an inclusive education system and believe that every young person should be expertly supported and taught to achieve their full potential. You will have excellent communication skills, empathy, strong behaviour management and relish a challenge. Diversity and equality will be important amongst your personal values.

You will be a positive and motivational teacher. You will also be efficient and have suitable experience to provide expert pastoral support. We can accommodate a range of subject specialisms; we have a teaching staff of 139 and so have a considerable degree of flexibility for the right candidate.

"Pupils happily attend George Abbot School. They respect their teachers and behave well in lessons.”

"Pupils… feel that staff look after them well and understand that there is always someone to go to if they are worried about something. Bullying is rare. Staff deal with it well if it does happen.”

“Pupils are well cared for at George Abbot School.”
