Payroll Officer

Covenant Christian School seeks to employ passionate Christian staff of a reformed evangelical persuasion, who are keen to explore and develop their practice faithfully. They should love students, love working in a community with like-minded staff and be keen to develop an approach to education that is biblically grounded, Christ-centred, culturally engaging and academically rigorous.

We welcome applications from suitably qualified, experienced and active Christian candidates who are keen to join our school.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS 

•  Permanent part-time

•  3 days per week, 15 hours per week for 46 weeks of the year

•  Commence as soon as possible

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

• Committed Christian of a reformed evangelical persuasion

• Qualifications and experience in Accounting/Payroll

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Proactive, with good organisational ability and attention to detail

• Computer literacy with a willingness and capacity to learn new programs and systems when needed

• Advanced MS Office (Excel and Word) skills

• Experience with Attaché software or similar

• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines

• Ability to be discrete with confidential or sensitive information

• Good understanding of and commitment to Christian schooling

• Flexible and able to multitask.

About Covenant Christian School

Growing from humble beginnings, Covenant Christian School in has become a community with vision and passion. Opening with from just 19 students in 1978, it now has more than 900 in preschool to Year 12 and is part of the Christian Education National movement. The school, in New South Wales’ northern beaches of Sydney, aims to educate its students with religion at its core.

Facilities 

In just 30 years, the school has amassed well-equipped facilities for its students. With both a senior and junior library, it also offers commercial-quality kitchens for its students studying hospitality and food technology, as well as a music computer lab for those learning how to play and even compose their own music. On top of this, it offers playgrounds, grassed areas and a gymnasium complete with a fully equipped stage for presentations and special functions.

Curriculum

The younger students in the school are taught through the Early Years’ Learning Framework, encouraging them to understand their place in God’s world. Those in the middle school will see new syllabus programs. The school has been introducing the new Australian Curriculum into its senior years, with English, Mathematics, Science and History in 2018.
